He was born in 1944 in Mexico City, where he studied for a degree in Art History at the Universidad Iberoamericana. Later he did master's and doctorate studies, UNAM. In 1981 she entered the Institute for Aesthetic Research, UNAM, where she has been a researcher since 1983. She has been a Representative before the Humanities Coordination, Alternate University Counselor and elected member of the Internal Council of the IIEs in three terms. Throughout his academic career, he has taught courses and conferences at numerous universities in Mexico and abroad. She is an Honorary Academician of the National Academy of Architecture, in addition to belonging to institutions such as the International Committee of Architecture Critics, CICA, the Mexican ICOMOS, DOCOMOMO International, the International Association of Art Critics, AICA, the Société Européenne de Culture and the National Academy of Fine Arts of Argentina. He has also been a jury for the National Prize for Sciences and Arts, and is a member of the National Commission of Artistic Heritage, INBAL, of the Council of Real Estate Historical Monuments, INAH, of the National Commission of the Bicentennial of the Beginning of National Independence and of the Centennial of the Beginning of the Mexican Revolution, in addition to having been President of the Organizing Committee of the XI International Docomomo Mexico Congress.
She was editor of the Revista Arquitectura/México between 1976 and 1979, while coordinating the Práxis Design Group. She is the author, among others, of the books Genesis of a Mural; Agustín Hernández, architecture and thought; Contemporary Architects of Mexico; Ricardo Legorreta, tradition and modernity; Guide to contemporary architecture in Mexico City; Vladimir Kaspé, reflection and commitment; Luis Barragan. Search and creativity; Enrique del Moral, an architect committed to Mexico; Mario Pani, a modern vision of the city and Enrique del Moral. Life and work, and more than a hundred articles in national and international specialized magazines.
He entered the Academia de Artes on July 18, 1992.
